Chicken cooked for lunches tomorrow, cupcakes made too. School starts!
We have also decided it's time to become vegetable independant and have extended the vegetable patch.  Next move is to get a polytunnel on it!

And then turned to cider brewing:

Steam juicing apples:

Cider ready to ferment:

And cider racked for secondary fermentation:

So this year we made even more!

Last years gorse brew, a real success:

Homebrewing

Gorse is endemic in this part of the world and, maybeit is unknown that it can be used in homebrewing to make gorseflower wine, or even tea

We have now produced sloe gin constantly for 2 years and will continue to do so.....it is a wonderfully warming accompanyment o long cold winter evenings with firends!

The first natural endeavour after hens was the use of hedgerows and the abundance of blackthorn producing sloes :)
